The Indian Economy and the market for sheer size and the developments in past decade or so has taken a prominent place in the world and no business can overlook this fact and avoid Indian market or dealing with Indian entities. In our interaction with some entities based outside of India we heard the complaints and concerns regarding the non fulfillment of commitment and / or delivery of inferior service or products than what was promised by the Indian entities. Our study and understanding of such complaint suggest one commonality in such issues, which is, that the foreign entities failed to secure their position through some kind of formal contract or agreement or they did not care to carry out due diligence of the Indian entity to ascertain its structure and history, financial and legal.

One common concern of the non Indian entities is the complex regulatory mechanism and/or bureaucratic red tape in India. We are of the view that like every other country, India too should have its own way of regulatory set up which has its uniqueness due to current needs and circumstances and if one has enough exposure in dealing with regulators in India, this regulatory issue is hardly a problem or concern.
